How much will standardisation cost?

It has been estimated the cost for technical implementation at each institution is approximately A$1000.

There will be uncommon circumstances where hospitals already use numbers containing the comibination ‘2222’ as part of an internal phone number. Costs may be slightly greater at these institutions.

In the UK implementation the costs were estimated to be £5200 per hospital, with the majority (58%) of that cost being due to revised signage, labels and documentation, and a minority to the technical changes (20%) and staff education (14%) (1). For European standardisation, it is estimated (in 2015) the cost will be €7500 (2).
